Set of spices for bitter-style tincture Riga Balsam (3 l)
This set of spices allows you to realize the unique opportunity to create your own version of the legendary Riga Balsam. The tincture has a deep, rich color and rich aroma, which intertwines notes of dark berries, roots and herbs. The taste of bitter is a harmonious combination of bitterness and sweetness, with a light caramel hint, ending with a long and warm aftertaste.
You will need:
- this set of spices
- alcohol 96% - 500 ml
- alcohol 40% - 1650 ml
- cognac 40% - 400 ml
- sugar – 0.5 kg.
- citric acid – 4 g
- water – 250 ml
Preparation:
Add the contents of Package 1 from the spice set to 500 ml of 96% alcohol and leave for 14 days. After steeping, filter thoroughly.
Add the contents of packet 2 of the spice set to 1650 ml of 40% alcohol and leave for 14 days. After steeping, filter thoroughly.
Preparing caramel:
Mix 500 g sugar and 250 g water, bring to a boil.
Add 4g citric acid, reduce heat and continue cooking until caramel forms. Turn off the heat.
Mixing:
Carefully pour the tincture from package 1 into the caramel and mix thoroughly. Add the tincture from package 2. Add 400 g of cognac and mix well again.
Final insistence:
Let the drink brew for another 7 days.
The drink is ready to drink!
