Automatic start-stop for distillation (rectification)

With the help of this automation you can regulate the selection of the product body by temperature.

By connecting the automation to a mash or distillation column with a liquid sampling unit, you set the sampling temperature after stabilizing the column. After this, having established temperature hysteresis (the value of the temperature increase is usually 1 -1.5 C), you begin the selection of the food fraction. When the temperature increases by a given value (tail fractions approach), the automation will shut off the extraction, which will lead to the lowering of the tail fractions and a decrease in the temperature in the column.

The automation will reopen the selection valve and resume the selection of the food fraction until the next temperature increase.

In this way, we can select absolutely the entire food fraction (the body of the product), excluding tails, with an accuracy of 0.1 C.

Also, automation can completely replace the needle valve for product selection (adjustment of selection speed in the range from 1 to 100% in 1% increments).

The automation is equipped with a 1/4” threaded adapter for installation between the extraction valve and the aftercooler of any Magnum Still devices.

Also, the extraction valve can be installed in the gap in any line between the extraction unit and the aftercooler, using quick-release push-in adapters with a 1/4" thread.
